Dear all, I will be posting up today’s videos after some editing.
Ok here it is! I think next time we video with the white light. The ambiance lights are not working well for the camera.
Im very happy after watching as I see marked improvement in many of you.
At the same time very sad that the video could not capture everyone even in the groups ![]()
I really need you all to see how you looked when you dance so that you can adjust and improve.
Since you can see me pretty clearly (most of you all are cut off after we move forward)
do use the video to recap steps as I will be continuing the choreo next week.
We will find a way to video better.
Geeta > not your fault, the studio is not deep enough
Rebecca > You have improved in catching the routine. Eg, I can see that during the turn you are one of the more stable ones. Now for timing wise, you need to practise keeping the tempo in your mind consistently. During class you can feel and see the movement of your fellow dancers to keep your timing in check while you execute your moves. For performance wise, you would have trained until you have tempo in tune with your body.
Angeline > It is a waste the videos couldn’t catch most of your runs. Your timing is good and you can flow the routine. Problem is your turning. Practise until you find a height and position that you can turn comfortably and smoothly. Also same thing I mentioned: too gentle. This is especially evident in my routines because mine is usually fast and hard hitting. When you stand beside people like Donny, the lack of energy is very obvious.
Donny > Good Job!, Your energy and leveling is one of the better ones. Your highs and lows are good. Your timing has also improved when Im dancing beside you but if Im not, you look a bit lost. You need to learn how to start on time. If you are having problem how reading my start cue please let me know.
Now you need to practise in front of the mirror adjust each move and pose so that you look comfortable. Many times your body angle may seem awkward and uncomfortable for yourself. Keep that energy!
Jonathon > I cannot see you in the videos. next week I want you to stand in the middle! I will write you your feedback next week.
Fern > I think you are very tired in my class esp after work on Sat. You know you have no problem with timing. Most of the time I think you are just too tired to execute the moves at the required speed. So you just need to train up the stamina. Dun worry it takes time but you will improve with regular training. Jia you!
Ling Hong, Cui Ting, Jie Zhi, Kai > I cant feedback much since it’s only your first few classes (and first class with me). But it is heartwarming to see that you guys are willing to work hard at this. Not afraid to make all the mistakes. This is important for beginners. To make mistakes! You can fall down, trip, get laughed at by the rest (good natured of cos) look weird and awkward, cannot catch up, tired, die during warm up blah. That’s what you should go through. Keep at it, laugh at yourself then see how you can learn from the mistakes and you will see improvement.
And yes, lastly, like I say > Grab your chest. That move cannot be faked.
